My name is Herb Reinhard. I have been doing remodeling and construction since 1984. When I began my business, I knew very little about construction, let alone how to actually run a business. I just started and tried to learn as I went. I was smart enough to get books and magazines on how to actually do remodeling and construction. Eventually, I became one of the best in remodeling and had good demand for my services.

The one thing that I lacked was the know how to run a business and make really good money. Oh, I made a living, but I really owned a job, not a business. I’m not sure why I never tried to learn more about marketing and running a business, but I think it was because I didn’t know what I didn’t know. (Think about it, it’s really true) When I look around I think a lot of other contractors are in the same position.

I then learned a lot about marketing from another business that I became involved in and the light bulb went on that I could use that information in my contracting business. If I could have had someone teach me all of this years ago, I would have made many times as much money as I did. I guess you could say that the cost of not learning from someone else far out weighed the cost of paying someone to teach me.
